Free travel for Ukrainians in Austria is promised on February 24

Austrian Railways is offering a campaign as a sign of solidarity with Ukrainians. On the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia, Ukrainian refugees will be given free travel.

It will be possible to travel to Vienna and back free of charge. The Embassy of Ukraine in Austria reports this on its Facebook page.


Everyone can come to the actions


Free travel is provided so that Ukrainians can get to the Austrian capital and take part in anti-war actions on February 24.


The right to free travel will apply:

  • from 02:00 to 11:00 on February 24, 2023 in the direction of Vienna,

  • from 17:30 to 00:00 on February 24, 2023 in the return direction.

How to get a ticket

  1. Show the passport of a citizen of Ukraine at the ticket office of the Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB.

  2. Fill out the form, which will be valid as a round-trip ticket.

The form will be available at all ticket offices of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) from February 20, 2023.

Other actions in Austria


On Saturday, February 25, at 18:00, the Divine Service will be held in St. Stephen's Cathedral the most famous church in Austria.


From 19:30 to 21:30 a silent action will be held on Stephansplatz – the central square of Vienna.
