Journalists can win a grant to prepare a story about social cohesion

The Swiss Fondation Hirondelle and the Ukrainian Institute of Regional Press and Information are announcing the Second Open Call for Applications for Individual Grants.
They aim to support 20 regional journalists to produce series of materials that cover local issues of social cohesion. This is reported by "Public Space".

What are the topics
Journalists are invited to prepare materials on the following topics:
Reconstruction and recovery processes.
Local self-government, budgeting and use of funds.
Challenges and overcoming them in the community: past and present.
Regional history and its significance today.
Successful examples of resilience, development and community unity.
Who can participate
Local journalists who are employees or freelancers of local media can participate.
Freelancers must provide a letter of commitment from the media that is ready to publish the final material.
Materials must be focused on a Ukrainian audience.
Priority will be given to proposals for series of materials (from 3 and more).
What is offered
The grant offers funding of 1,500 Swiss francs, as well as mentoring support.
Selected participants will also be invited to two three-day trainings on editorial production and security, which will be held in Kyiv and Lviv. The dates of the trainings will be announced later.
The grant period will last from August 18 to December 17, 2025.
