The Red Cross will help Ukrainians in one of the cities of Poland: who can apply

Ukrainian refugees living in the city of Bydgoszcz can apply for financial assistance. Previously, residents of Łódź had already received such an opportunity.


This was reported by the Ukrayina.pl resource. The Polish Red Cross accepts applications until September 18 inclusive.


Who can get help?

  • Ukrainians who left the country after February 24 as a result of Russian aggression,

  • only those who have NOT previously received financial assistance from other humanitarian organizations. For example, from UNHCR, IRC, LWF, Fundacja ADRA Polska, Polish Humanitarian Action, PCPM.

To participate in the assistance program, you must:

  • Support at least 1 child (under the age of 18) or have a dependent person over 50 years of age.

  • Having 2 or more dependents (underage children or people over 50).

  • Be older than 50 years.

  • Have a disabled person in the family.

WARNING! Only those families who meet at least one of the above criteria will receive assistance.

How to ask for a financial aid

  1. Only one person from a household (in fact, from a family) can apply.

  2. You need to register online. To do this, install the IFRC application on your phone. It is available for iOS and Android.

  3. Upload all the necessary documents to the application (not only your own, but also of family members).

  4. If you do not have a smartphone, contact the physical office of the Polish Red Cross in Bydgoszcz.

Branch address: city of Bydgoszcz, 10 Doktor Emil Warminsky Street. Hours of operation: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday – from 7:00 to 17:00.
  • After you have applied and received a message from the Red Cross, you need to visit any Moneygram branch. There you need to confirm your identity: provide a foreign passport, an internal passport in the form of an ID card, a driver's license or PESEL.

Amount of assistance


A maximum of 5 people in a family can receive assistance. At the same time, the applicant himself can receive 710 zlotys, and each additional family member – 610 zlotys.
